cards will the Court accept?
MasterCard and Discover.
Why can’t I use my Visa or American Express Card?
Neither of these companies will allow their cards to be used for this purpose.
Are there any user
fees that I have to pay to use my credit or debit card?
Fees can be paid in person by MasterCard or Discover. JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A. will charge a convenience fee of 2.49% that will be added to your payment amount for each transaction completed (minimum charge of $3.95).
Example #1: A certified copy of a letter of authority is $12. If payment is made by MasterCard or Discover, the cost is $15.95 ($12 plus $3.95 convenience fee).
Example #2: A petition to open a decedent estate is $150. If payment is made by MasterCard or Discover, the cost is $153.95 ($150 plus $3.95 convenience fee).
Example #3: A petition to open a conservatorship is $150. A petition to open a guardianship is $150. If payment is made by MasterCard or Discover, the cost is $307.50 ($300 plus $7.50 convenience fee).
Can I pay fees with a
credit or debit card over the phone, via mail, or on-line?
Not at this time. Credit and debit card payments can only be processed in person.
Where do I go to pay
fees with a credit or debit card?
To the Cashier window, which is located just outside of Room 1307. Follow the signs.
